Wise and shrewd
|
|
Many of the key players on the different sides of the political
crisis engulfing our Republic have shown a great deal of wisdom.
Some have also been both wise and shrewd.
In the Senate
The senators who are frontrunners in the 2010
presidential are wisely and astutely saying they will not join the
call for President Arroyo to resign. To do that would be to prejudge
Mrs. Arroyo about her involvement—or acquiescence in and inaction

Blind to other
oligarchs
|

It is remarkable that little, if any, has been remarked about the
testimony of columnist Angelito Banayo before the Senate Blue Ribbon

Strong party system a
pipe dream
|
|
Speaker Prospero Nograles says that strengthening the country’s
political party system is among the priorities of the House under
his stewardship. I fully agree with him. Unfortunately, the Senate
does not share the priority and under a bicameral system, no law can
be passed without the concurrence of both the House and the Senate.
