BANGKOK: Thailand national men’s football team
coach Chanvit Phalajivin announced on Thursday that it would be a
good opportunity to test his new players since six main attackers
will be absent during the warm-up match against China in Kunming on
March 15.
Chanvit told the Bangkok Post
that Singapore-based Sutee Suksomkit and Vietnam-based Datsakorn
Thonglao and Nirut Surasiang have to play for their clubs.
The other three—Suree Sukha,
Kiatprawut Saiwaew and Teerasil Dangda—are now on Manchester
City’s books. They will not travel with the team to China as they
have to sort out their visa problems in their bid to play for a game
in Switzerland.
Chanvit said that the absence of
the six players would not be a problem for his side and this would
be a good opportunity to test new players.
However, the six will be called
up for Thailand’s match against Oman in a World Cup qualifier in
Bangkok on March 26, he said.
Chanvit said Thailand would go
for a win against China as beating the Chinese on their home soil
would be a huge psychological boost for his men for the Oman game.
