Spectacular prosperity celebration

A DAZZLING and spectacular evening of uniquely Singaporean-inspired cuisine teeming with symbolic meanings of prosperity and good fortune perfectly blended with the upbeat tempo of the Broadway-themed musicale that captivated more than 300 guests at The Heritage Hotel Manila, in celebration of the auspicious Chinese New Year of the Earth Rat.

Eddie Yeo, the Heritage Hotel’s General Manager spearheaded the ceremonial toss of the only authentic Yu Sheng Prosperity Salad in the country.

Joining the celebration were Brunei Darussalam Ambassador Emaleen Teo and spouse; Cambodian Ambassador In May and spouse; Indonesian Ambassador Prof. Irzan Tandjung and spouse; Lao Ambassador Leuane Sombounhka; Dato Ahmad Rasidi Hazizi, Ambassador—Embassy of Malaysia and spouse and Palau Ambassador Ramon Rechebei who all enjoyed the prosperity platter as well as the rest of the 8-course Chinese lauriat especially prepared by the hotel’s Executive Chef, Chef Sunny Goh.

Romina Gervacio, the hotel’s Marketing Communications Manager hosted the festive occasion, with a dazzling backdrop of Chinese-inspired golden emblems.

While guests found their way to gastronomic heaven, the Heritage Hotel’s management and staff spearheaded by Norielle Roldan, director of Sales and Marketing, put on their dancing shoes and presented a one-of-a-kind musicale spectacle to highlight the recently completed $4.5 million refurbishment program of the hotel, boasting of its 450 brand new rooms. Fabulous jewelry pieces courtesy of Michelis were given away to add glitter to the celebration.

To cap the evening in the spirit of achieving balance and harmony, a special fund-raising activity was held to benefit the Shepherd of the Hills Foundation, a non-government organization dedicated to help improve the lives of the abandoned and street children.

May we all find prosperity and balance in our lives.

Meanwhile, expertly crafted and visually arresting jewelry designs mixed with stunning paintings by the renowned Saturday group of artists was the order of the day as intentionally acclaimed designer jewelry group Hoseki recently unveiled their new collection at the Ascott Hotel. Entitled “Look East”, the new jewelry creations by visionary founder Faico with his new wife Zabeth Co and their talented pool of designers including Knoi Esmane and Sharmaine Ng featured a synthesis of revelations and inspirations drawn all over the orient, from beautiful Japanese blooms, the bold Chinese dragons and the intricacy of the Filipina fan. First to offer an exquisite amalgamation of visual art with jewelry design, Hoseki’s exhibit raised the bar higher once more and broke down boundaries in both the jewelry and art world.

The by-invitation-only event had the guests marveling at Hoseki’s seamless and artistic elegance as they staged a fashion show that weaved sophistication and luxury, of beauty and magnificence. With their eye for details and flair for design, Hoseki’s goal of fusing art and design is slowly coming to the fruition with their continuously evolving, innovative and dynamic approach.
