Peace, work, prayer and communal service are
Benedictine ideals held in high regard by Bedans young and old, and
these are the same guiding tenets that have been exemplified by
outstanding men and women who were feted in appropriate rites during
the Red and White Ball held recently at the NBC Tent.
This San Beda College Alumni Association (SBCAA)
annual event elevated the following distinguished gentlemen to the
San Beda Hall of Fame: Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco, Arturo
Macapagal, George Yang, Atty. Miguel Varela, Justice Romeo Callejo
and Ambassador Antonio Delgado (posthumous) and sports greats: Chito
Loyzaga, Cardie Roque, Pinky Brosas, Ral Rosario, Henry Diy, Mari
Martinez, Antonio Martinez (posthumous), Gamaliel Roca (posthumous)
and Edgar Roca (posthumous).
House members Amado Bagatsing and Joseph
Santiago were given the Raul Roco and Ramon V. Mitra Awards for
Public Service and Outstanding Legislation, respectively.
Awarded as 2008 Most Distinguished Bedans
included: Primo Arambulo (Veterinary Medicine), Herbert M. Bautista
(Government Service), Elpidio F. Barzaga, Jr., (Public Service),

Outstanding Woman of Service.
The very formal Bedan affair, hosted by Johnny
Litton and Agot Isidro, was graced by no less than President Gloria
Arroyo.

honcho Manny V. Pangilinan; Rep. Mark Cojuangco; Pawnshop magnate
Louie Ablaza; SBCAA President and Rex President Atty. Dominador
Buhain; Real Bank President Jose G. Araullo; socialites Tess Castro,
