Discovery Travel & Living: DO’S & DON’TS

From March 24 to 28, every night at 9 p.m., Discovery Travel & Living has put together a programming special for viewers featuring handy travel tips and insiders’ knowledge for both new and seasoned travelers. With three brand new show—HAWAII DO’S AND DON’TS, CRUISING DO’S AND DON’TS and VEGAS DO’S AND DON’TS—and encores of two favorite—HAWAII FAQ and GLOBE TREKKER’S GREAT JOURNEYS: PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES—viewers will get useful travel tips for each location featured, arming them with all the knowledge they need to thoroughly enjoy their travels, whether near or far, by train, plane or by car. What’s the best way to get there? Where can the best bargains be found? What are the typical tourist blunders to avoid? All these questions, and more, will be answered in this weeklong travel showcase.

Starting with the premiere of HAWAII DO’S AND DON’TS, get ready to learn all about America’s 50th state before booking the next flight out to their friendly shores. Learn to say “aloha” the right way as native Hawaiians reveal their culture and share the wonders of their beautiful islands in this hour-long premiere. With six islands that cover over 29,311 kms., there is bound to be something that viewers have yet to discover even if they are returning visitors to the Aloha State. Featured in this program are Hawaii’s finest, from the best vacation bargains and packages available, to practical advice for novice surfers hitting the waters.

If traveling by plane seems a little too claustrophobic, how about getting to the destination by sea? Every year, millions of people hop on board ships and explore their world with the fresh ocean breeze in their hair. Letting viewers in on the secrets of being a great traveler, from being well-equipped for the seas to having the right etiquette on board the cruise ship, CRUISING DO’S AND DON’TS is the essential guide for those who would like to soak in the sights and smells that only the open sea can offer.

For those attracted to the bright lights, endless buffet lines and the sound of slot machines ringing that the “Entertainment Capital of the World”—Las Vegas—has to offer, be sure to catch VEGAS DO’S AND DON’TS. While Vegas may be known for its lavish resorts and unrestricted availability of alcoholic beverages and entertainment, it is a city with rules and VEGAS DO’S AND DON’TS will educate viewers on the proper etiquette when in the city of lights, as well as a whole lineup of must-sees, must-dos and must-avoid when in town.

Along with HAWAII DO’S AND DON’TS, CRUISING DO’S AND DON’TS and VEGAS DO’S AND DON’TS, other highlights in the lineup include HAWAII FAQ, which will dish out essential knowledge about Hawaii, and GLOBE TREKKER’S GREAT JOURNEYS: PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES, a comprehensive guide exploring the different modes of transportation available to travelers.

Viewers can catch this weeklong travel special on Discovery Travel & Living from Monday through Friday, March 24 to 28, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring the following programs:
