Senior police officer linked in Viva Hot
Babe’s murder case denies involvement

OLONGAPO City: A senior police officer being linked to the death of Viva Hot Babe Scarlet Garcia Bouffard denied any participation in the said crime. Bouffard was found dead along with three others inside her apartment last week.

Police authorities identified the senior police officer as SPO1 Leopoldo Vitug, a motor vehicle inspector of the Traffic Management Group based in Camp Crame.

Vitug however denied that he had a hand in the killing after PNP Chief Avelino Razon Jr. ordered TMG Director Chief Supt. Perfecto Palad to restrict the police officer in their quarters in Camp Crame and to undergo paraffin test.

The officer’s name was dragged into the case after authorities found his uniform, ID and ball cap with TMG markings inside the car of Bouffard, a silver Toyota Vios with plate number ZAJ-203 parked outside the apartment.

Bouffard, 23, was found dead together with her cousin, Rachel Estacio, 20; Van Mark Bandejas, 20; and her boyfriend Jorge Vitug, 27. All four had gunshot wounds in the head.

Jorge Vitug is reportedly the nephew of SPO1 Vitug.

In a television interview over ABS-CBN, SPO1 Vitug said he had no idea how and when his nephew got his ID and uniform. He said the last time he saw his nephew was when the younger Vitug’s father died last year.
