Doctors recommended that Magdalo officer Col.
Ariel Querubin should undergo coronary angiography at the Philippine
Heart Center (PHC) in Quezon City to find out the cause of the chest
pains he has been suffering since Tuesday morning.
Maj. Tony Punzalan, head cardiologist of the
Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center in V. Luna Medical
Center recommended that Querubin undergo this test at the PHC
because the hospital has no equipment to perform the said check.
Coronary angiography is an X-ray examination of
the blood vessels or chambers of the heart wherein a very small
catheter is inserted into a blood vessel to take pictures of the
arteries.
Querubin was brought to the military hospital
from his detention cell inside Camp Aguinaldo Tuesday morning after
experiencing difficulty in breathing.
According to Querubin’s wife Ma. Flor, the
major was initially brought to the Camp Aguinaldo station hospital
after he complained about severe chest pains and shortness of
breath.
“He (Querubin) had to walk out of detention
compound because no vehicle can get in the detention area...I hope
this will not happen to others who are also not in their best of
health,” the wife said in a text message.
