The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) asked PNP chief
Avelino Razon Jr. to investigate some police officials who are
running an illegal numbers game in Nueva Ecija using the results of
the Keno onLine games of PCSO.
According to PCSO Director Larry Cedro, the PCSO
On-Line Lottery sector group under Assistant General Manager Conrado
Sabello will also conduct its own investigation to verify the report
that certain police officials are using the Keno on Line games
results for their illegal numbers game activity in towns of Talavera,
Llaner, Allaga and Caranglan in Nueva Ecija.
Last week, police Region 3 Director Errol Pan
instructed his men to
conduct raids on reported Keno-Jueteng operations in barangay
Cahipahan,
Talavera where 24 workers were apprehended while two others in
Bagumbayan, Llanera were also arrested.
The operator of the small town lottery in Nueva
Ecija lodged a complaint at PCSO against the Keno-Jueteng operations
allegedly being run by a certain Supt. Vero of the Criminal
Investigation and Detection Group along with a Supt. Divina of Camp
Crame.
Supt. Vero is allegedly a husband of a town
mayor in Nueva Ecija.
The Keno-Jueteng operations is using the Keno
results in 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. which has an outlet
in Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija.
Besides their kubradors or bet collectors they
are also using the legitimate Keno play slips and even using Keno
IDs to give the impression that their activity was legal and
sanctioned by the office.
Sweepstakes agency spokesman Cedro warned the
public particularly the residents of Nueva Ecija that the Keno-Jueteng
activity is not sanctioned by the office and therefore it is
illegal.
