DPWH acted fast
THIS refers to the news article “Landslide
threat prompts evacuation of hundreds in Albay” by Manny Ugalde
(February 28) regarding the alleged complaint of Daraga municipal
mayor Cicero Triufante for the slow action of the DPWH in clearing a
damaged section of Maharlika Highway in Daraga, Albay.
Contrary to the report, Mayor Triufante denied
that he had made such statement and in fact he even commended the
DPWH Region V Office and the DPWH Albay 2nd District Engineering
Office for their swift efforts to make the flooded portion of the
Maharlika Highway passable.
Attached is the letter of Mayor Triufante to
Undersecretary Ramon Aquino and the undersigned dated March 12.
