Coke battles TNT in Davao del Norte

WITH two imports and a reliable veteran added to the team, the Coca-Cola Tigers are expected to go deep in the 2008 Fiesta Cup.

The people from Panabo, Davao Del Norte will get a first-hand look on the powerhouse team when it faces the Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals on Saturday at the Panabo Multi-Purpose Tourism Cultural and Sports Center.

The Tigers, who acquired Nic Belasco from the Welcoat Dragons for Mark Isip, are allowed to field in two imports in the season-ending tournament.

They will parade 6-foot-9 former Liberty University standout Jason Dixon and 5’10” former University of Buffalo guard Calvin Cage.

Aaron DeShon McGhee, a 6-foot-8,250-pound power forward who starred for the Oklahoma University Sooner that reached the 2002 US NCAA Final Four will reinforce the Phone Pals.

The formal opening ceremonies will be held on Sunday with the traditional double-header pitting Welcoat against Air21 and Red Bull against Barangay Ginebra at the Araneta Coliseum.
