Ginebra faces Red Bull;
Welcoat takes on Air 21

 
WHICH has the better import between Barangay Ginebra and Red Bull will be known on Sunday when they meet in the main game of the PBA Fiesta Cup which formally opens at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Barakos and the Gin Kings tangle at 6:50 p.m. right after the Welcoat-Air 21 encounter at 4:30 p.m.

Red Bull, which lost Jameel Watkins to Magnolia, has acquired Adam Parada, the tallest among all imports at 7’0”.

Parada, who played for the Sacramento Kings in the most recent NBA summer league, will be up against Ginebra’s Rahshon Tuner, a 6’7” center-forward who once played at Georgetown University in New York.

The 6’8” Stephen Thomas of Middle Tennessee University banners Air 21 while Welcoat parades 6’11” Jason Keep, a center-forward from   University of San Diego and 6’1 guard Cory Santee of Texas Christian University.

Newly-crowned Philippine Cup champion Sta. Lucia Realty got the services of 6’10” Wesley Wilson, also of Georgetown University, and eighth-time winner Purefoods has 6’10 forward Darius Rice, a former standout from the University of Miami.

Randy Holcomb, a 6’8” forward from San Diego State University is playing for Alaska while 6’10” Jameel Watkins, a former Shell Remula-X import, is with Magnolia Beverage.

Talk ‘N Text has Aaron DeShon McGhee, a 6’8”, 250-pound power forward who starred for the Oklahoma University Sooner that reached the  US NCAA Final Four in 2002.

Coca Cola, which was allowed to field two imports, has former Liberty University standout Jason Dixon (6’9”) and former University of Buffalo guard Calvin Cage (6’10”).
