MyGame lets you play
first-person shooter online

Microgaming Corp. or MyGame.ph, a new Philippine-based online games service provider, has introduced to media its flagship game, Special Force Online.

Originally developed by Korean game software provider Dragonfly, Special Force or SF is a tactical first-person shooter (FPS) online game. It’s a free-to-play military-themed game where players can create their own elite military units with customized combat gear including weapons and equipment.

Players can buy equipment through Special Points or SP, the virtual currency of Special Force, while some items can be purchased through eCoins, MyGame’s real-life currency.

Among the SF features include: Persistent Character Creation or PCC, where the player can create his own character and equip himself with various equipment that allows him to rise from the ranks; Point Reward System and Battle Mode Selection (two game modes)—the players can select and play single battle (a deathmatch mode) or team battle (skilled match requiring teamwork and cooperation); and Objective-Based Maps and Tactical Feedback.

“SF is an easy game to learn, intuitive, fun and exciting one but hard to master,” according to Anton Ojeda, marketing manager of Microgaming. “SF’s commercial launch will cater to online players aging from 13 and above.”

He also added at the press briefing that Special Force has been a top-ranked online game in South Korea’s Internet cafés since its introduction in 2004 and has become South Korea’s official game. With that, MyGame is expecting that SF would also be a big hit in the Philippines. “Since its initiation on December 2007, or barely four months, MyGame has already a hundred thousand registered players for Special Force,” Ojeda said.
