A Quezon City court Wednesday suspended the arrest warrant for
former Basilan Rep. Gerry Salapuddin after granting his motion to
recall or quash the said warrant.
This developed after Public Prosecutor Mary Jane
Sytat issued a motion to exclude Salapuddin from the amended
information earlier filed by Justice Secretary Raul Gonzales, which
clears Salapuddin from having direct involvement in the November
2007 Batasan blast that killed Basilan Rep. Wahab Akbar and five
others.
However, only Salapuddin was excluded, leaving
the other co-accused, Benjamin Hataman, PO1 Bayan Judda, and Hajarun
Jamiri liable to face charges for the bombing.
