Iloilo Rep. Janet Garin is now pushing for the regulation of the use
of cellular phones after the controversial “Cebu canister”
scandal.
She said it is high time for the government to
put up guidelines for the use of cellular phones, particularly those
that have photo and video capabilities.
Garin, a medical doctor by profession, said the
use of cellular phones with cameras could be subject to abuse
similar to what happened in the operating room at Vicente Sotto
Hospital in Cebu where a homosexual was operated for the removal of
a canister inside his body.
