A neatly tiled area of the home or office is always a
welcome sight. Proper layout is crucial to enjoy its aesthetic
value. Traditionally, mortar is used to fill the gaps between the
tiles after they have been laid. A more modern and appealing
alternative is the tile grout. Now, you can maximize the use of

A common tile grout can be prone

For surface preparation, joints
and tile edges must be clean and free from loose materials. Wet
joints prior to the application of grout.
To mix, pour clean water into a
pail and add NovTek Tile Grout gradually. Mix thoroughly until
creamy and pasty consistency is attained. Let stand for 15 minutes,
and then mix again. For a 2-kg NovTek Tile Grout, add about 3/4
liters of water.
To apply, press a small amount of
grout on to the face of the tiles with a trowel. Use a grout
applicator to spread it, making long, upward diagonal strokes and
working it into the joints between tiles. Continue until you have
grouted all the joints. Do this as quickly as possible, since the
grout will soon begin to harden.
Go over the tiles with a damp
sponge to remove any excess. It will be very difficult to shift once
hard. Take care not to drag any grout from the joints. Leave the
grout to dry; as it does, you will notice a powdery film appear on
the tiles from all the sponging. Simply polish this off with a soft,
clean cloth to leave your tiles sparkling.
