Samsung brings new line
of HD LCD TV to local market

Samsung Electronics showcased its new line of high-definition (HD) products at the recent Samsung AV Roadshow 2008.

Among those highlighted on the show was Samsung’s HD TV lineup, namely Series 5, 6 and 7 HD LCD TVs.

Each series is equipped with a 1080p true-HD resolution.

The Series 5 HD LCD TV is equipped with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio for richer black details. It features a Clear Panel technology, created to reduce glare and enhance contrast and a Wide Colour Enhancer 2 to increase the color quality. It has three High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) 1.3 inputs and a USB 2.0 port for easy connectivity and a swivel stand for flexible viewing.

On the other hand, the Series 6 HD LCD TV features a Super Patterned Vertical Alignment panel for 178-degree viewing angle from all axes and a 50,000:1 contrast ratio. It features Ultra Clear Panel technology for reflection reduction and increased visibility, Auto Motion Plus 100Hz for eliminating image blurring and a Wide Color Enhancer 2. It has four HDMI inputs and a USB 2.0 port.

Finally, the Series 7 features a 50,000:1 contrast ratio, Auto Motion Plus 100Hz, Wide Colour Enhancer 2 and Digital Natural Image engine Pro for enhanced depth of color. It has a library with fitness, children, gallery, cooking and game content for enhanced entertainment, as well as an InfoLink function for news updates, which can be provided through Ethernet connection. It also has four HDMI inputs and a USB 2.0 port for connectivity.

Both Series 6 and 7 LCD TVs incorporate the Crystal Design, which feature a tinge of amber blended with Samsung’s traditional piano black bezel frame.

The Series 5, 6 and 7 will be available by April, May and June respectively.
