STEWART MACDONALD, driving a TRS Ford Focus, flashed his brilliant
form to win the first leg of the Petron Production Car Challenge
over the weekend at the Subic International Raceway at the Subic Bay
Freeport in Zambales.
From the green light, MacDonald disappeared in
the distance leaving everyone else in his dust and taking an easy
win in Round One.
His TRS teammate Dominic Samson, however, did
not have it so easy as Menchie Francisco, who started from fifth,
challenged him for second place all the way.
It was only Samson’s late braking defense that
allowed him to stay in front of the charging Francisco at the
checkered flag.
Rounding out the top five were Lory Uy in the
Valvoline/Velocity Motors Honda Civic and Dominic Uy in the Mighty
Filters/Velocity Motors.
Round Two was pretty much the same as MacDonald
again took a flag-to-flag win with Samson making it another TRS Ford
Focus one-two. Uy finished third ahead of sister-in-law Lory while
Francisco placed fifth.
