Ed Laguerta, chief of Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology in Bicol said intensity 5 was felt in Bulan while intensity 3 was reported in Legazpi City. He said the two earthquakes were of Tectonic origin and the depths of focus were shallow.

“The tremor that took place in the morning had intensity 5 felt in the towns of Bulan and Donsol in Sorsogon and intensity 3 felt in the cities of Legazpi and Masbate,” continued Laguerta, adding that the afternoon quake was felt with intensity 3 in Irosin, Sorsogon and intensity 2 at the Lignon Hill, in this city and Masbate.

While there was no reported damage, Cedric Daep, chief of the Albay Provincial Public and Safety Management Office alerted the Albayanons to be on guard and ready for any eventuality.
