Phone Pals eye solo lead

THE Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals gun for solo leadership when they take on the Purefoods TJ Giants Wednesday in the 2008 Smart-PBA Fiesta Conference at the Ynares Sports Centers in Antipolo City.

The Phone Pals, fresh from their 90-80 conquest of the Sta. Lucia Realtors in Cagayan de Oro City Saturday, are currently tied with the Red Bull Barako Bulls are first place with 7-3 card.

The Giants, on the other hand, are near the bottom of the standings at 3-5.

Meanwhile, the Magnolia Beverage and the Air21 Express part ways in the other game. Both are sporting 5-4 records.

The Phone Pals are having their finest start since winning 10 of their first 11 games in the 2005 Philippine Cup. They are currently the hottest team in the league, winning their last two games, five of their last six and seven of their last nine. Their only loss the past six games is a stunning 108-116 defeat at the hands of perennial whipping boys Welcoat Dragons.
