BETHESDA, Maryland: Tiger Woods says the rehabilitation of his
surgically repaired left knee is “right on schedule” for a
challenge at next month’s US Open, the second major championship
of the season.
Although Woods said he decided to skip this
week’s Memorial tournament because he wasn’t yet ready to return
to competition, he said on Tuesday that he expected to be at full
strength for the Open set June 12 to 15 at Torrey Pines in San
Diego, California.
“The knee is doing better,” Woods said at
the media day for the National tournament that he will host at
Congressional Country Club in July.
“The rehab is working. It gets really old
riding that bike, man. But everything is on schedule. Just trying to
get this thing [the knee] organized for the Open. Right on schedule
for that.”
