Group sues Meralco
for estafa

Consumers file case before DOJ for meter, bill
deposits collected
|
|
A consumer group on Thursday filed charges of
large-scale estafa before the Department of Justice against top
executives of the Manila Electric Co. (Meralco).
The National Association of Electricity
Consumers for Reforms alleged that the utility misappropriated
hundreds of millions of pesos in interests earned from the consumers’
meter and bill deposits.

1603 massacre for ‘Believe it or not’

According to nearly all historical accounts I
have come across—whether in Chinese, Spanish or English—the 1603
massacre of the Chinese in the Philippines that left 23,000 to
24,000 dead, was triggered by three envoys sent by the Ming Imperial
