about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, counter-terrorism,
defense reform, food security, and regional economic integration,
the statement said.
“The US-Philippines alliance is grounded

president looks forward to discussions with President Arroyo on ways
to enhance further our strong partnership and support for democracy
in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond,” read a statement from
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino.
The Philippines has been a strong ally of the US
in Southeast Asia.
