Lush gardens, cobbled roads, park benches, quaint shops facades,
old-fashioned telephone booths: they don’t call this Hampton Court
for nothing. As the commercial area of Imus, Cavite’s
five-enclave, European-designed residential community called
Eurotown, Hampton Court boasts almost everything that its
inspiration, the British tourist attraction, is known for.
Dubbed a “garden mall,” Imus’ Hampton
Court promises landscaped parks and open spaces, a gazebo, garden
maze and other features overlooked by most urban shopping centers
today. The idea, apparently, is to bring the outdoors to people who
are eternally indoors. Given the amount of time we spend in our
homes, offices and yes, even the malls, the sight of clear blue
skies, well-tended green lawns and trees and the scent of fresh
southern air are indeed such priceless treats.
