Now serving: Gene foods on the table

You just don’t know it but you’re probably eating genetically modified organisms in your favorite dishes

KNOW before you swallow. This is the advice of Sister Ma. Aida Velasquez, pointing out that many Filipino foods contain gene-modified (GM) products.

These products range from infant cereal to meat loaf, hotdog, corned beef, sausage, chicken nuggets, liver spread, luncheon meat, soups and snacks, says Sister Aida, coordinator of the environment advocacy group Lingkod Tao-Kalikasan.
