FAN GIRL
By Karen Kunawicz
The sex appeal of Daniel Craig’s left eyebrow

This is how I spent my nights after work last week: Wednesday—meet up with the NWA to watch Quantum of Solace, Thursday—meet up with my brother to watch Quantum of Solace, Friday—meet up with the busiest woman in the universe to watch Quantum of Solace.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We all know everyone’s favorite, definitive Bond is Sean Connery but after Quantum of Solace, I’m going to take a leap and say my Bond is Daniel Craig. He is dangerously sexy, brutal, focused and as Camille (Olga Kurlyenko) puts it, “horribly efficient.”

He’s got these steely gorgeous blue eyes, short blond hair and doesn’t care if he gets his face scarred, bruised, broken up. Blood on an impeccable white button down shirt? No matter. These things don’t merit even a millisecond of concern. There’s that job that needs to be done.

Craig’s Bond is also incredibly physical and elegantly brutal. Skips the fad gadgetry for the most part and takes care of a lot of business with his bare hands.

Mention the word “hombre” to me and I’ll think of Daniel Craig. I would certainly love to help Daniel Craig’s Bond find the hotel stationery any time of the day, any day of the week.

In fact, right now, I would date man who even has half the sex appeal of Daniel Craig’s left eyebrow in this movie.

On Monday, Kiko got voted out of Survivor. To think that while one my way to my third go at Quantum of Solace, I saw him buying snacks before Madagascar 2. It’s too bad—I’m going to miss the dreadlocks and the mad stack of bracelets on his right hand. And after all this time, he’s really the only contestant I can identify—well, along with Sagada-based Gigit who got the boot early October.

My cousin Hank and I were able to chat a bit with Kiko at “I Have Two Eggs” along Tomas Morato (their Wagyu tapa is a winner by the way). And we both found out he’s had his dreadlocks for the last five years, he loves his family and there must be about a hundred bracelets on that wrist—and no, despite all the challenges and a variety of weather conditions they’re exposed to, not a single one has fallen off and they don’t stink either.

We hope there’s more fun and adventure down the road of life for this character.

And finally for Twilight fans, you might want to go to this event: Twilight Takes Back the Night: A Fundraiser for the Safety of Young Women which happens at Fully Booked on Friday November 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Twilight posters and passes will be raffled off and food will be served. Yours truly will be hosting.
