Ruling would cause rotating brownouts

TransCo, Meralco seek to block SC order

THE country’s national power grid and the biggest electricity distributor said they would exhaust all legal remedies to halt the decommissioning of a transmission facility in an upscale neighborhood in Makati after the Supreme Court ordered its dismantling.

In a joint briefing, officials of National Transmission Corp. (TransCo) and Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) said they have filed separate petitions before courts to prevent the dismantling of the 230-kilovolt Sucat-Araneta-Balintawak line.
