Wu eliminates Pulpul to reach final round |
|
WU CHIA-CHING of Chinese Taipei broke the hearts of local fans by
eliminating crowd darling and last Filipino standing Demosthenes
“Plong-Plong” Pulpul Saturday in the World Ten Ball Championship
at the Philippine International Convention Center.
The two-time world champion got off to a strong
start on his way to an 11-8 victory and the finals of the $400,000
tournament.
Pulpul, playing less than half an hour after
securing a seat in the semifinals, looked shaky at the onset. He
either missed an easy shot or blundered safety try in each of the
first three racks as Wu raced to a 5-0 lead.
