Wu eliminates Pulpul to reach final round 

 
WU CHIA-CHING of Chinese Taipei broke the hearts of local fans by eliminating crowd darling and last Filipino standing Demosthenes “Plong-Plong” Pulpul Saturday in the World Ten Ball Championship at the Philippine International Convention Center.

The two-time world champion got off to a strong start on his way to an 11-8 victory and the finals of the $400,000 tournament.

Pulpul, playing less than half an hour after securing a seat in the semifinals, looked shaky at the onset. He either missed an easy shot or blundered safety try in each of the first three racks as Wu raced to a 5-0 lead.
