Rico Blanco comes back with a big bang
|
|
Rico Blanco’s familiar, comforting wailings
cut through the idle chatter at Cinema 5 of Gateway Mall at the
Araneta Center in Cubao Friday night. Members of the media, friends
from the industry and fans gathered that night to celebrate the
launch of the erstwhile Rivermaya front man’s debut album as a
solo artist.
Hip-and-happening band-of-the-moment Taken By
Cars sampled their dance-punk-rock music as curtain raisers for the
show, and while Sarah Marco and her cohorts elicited polite applause
and the stray whoop of approval from the audience, there was no
denying who the people that turned up came to see.
