First Consumer Electronics Live! Held at SMX

Technology-savvy from all walks of life gathered at the Consumer Electronics Live! Manila 2008 (CEL Manila) as it showcased the newest gadgets, devices and equipments available in the market at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

CEL Manila, which was produced and organized by Summit Live!, was held from October 24 to 25.

The event, considered the first trade electronic show held locally, will be held annually to update the consumers and industries of the latest products in audio, video, digital imaging, computer products, home entertainment, home appliances, mobile and wireless technology.

”We truly want everybody to experience the new products presented and to relate to the exhibit as a whole so we made the concept of technology experiential. We had to translate technology into something everybody can fully feel and understand veering away from the usual idea that technology is cold, clinical or complicated,” Maricar Parco, general manager of Summit Live! said in a statement.

Among the big exhibitors in the trade show include Apple/Senco, Canon, HP, LG Electronics, Nokia, Samsung and Sony. Other companies like Alpine, BMW, Bose, Creative, Fuji Xerox, JBL, Lucerne, Mazda, Myphone, Sennheiser and Western Digital were also participated.

During the three-day show, Canon offered 40- percent discount on its selected cameras. Myphone also gave 70-percent off on its selected products.
