Michael de Mesa to quit showbiz

“VERY FRUSTRATED!” With just two words, actor Michael de Mesa has unloaded the feelings he has kept for a long, long time—real emotions about the industry he so dearly loves.

At the special luncheon organized by Atlantis Productions for the cast of the musical Hairspray, Michael announced that he is quitting show business. “I’m tired. I’m disappointed. I’m sad. But I have mustered enough guts to leave show business and try something new, something that can give me more fulfillment, more joy as a normal person.”
