Mazda3 goes E20-capable green in auto show

Mazda Phils. at the 2nd Philippine International Motor Show showcased the 2008 Mazda3 that can run on E20 fuel, making the car a star in this year’s event which carried the theme “Drive the Future: Toward Safer and Cleaner Motoring.” Mazda revealed all Mazda3 cars that were manufactured beginning August 2007 are already E20 rated, categorically making them Flexible Fuel Vehicles (FFV). FFVs have specialized connections between the engine and the fuel system that allow them to use alternative fuels when available, the carmaker said. This means the E20 Mazda3 is E20 can run on gasoline that’s mixed with up to 20 percent of ethanol.

Locally available E10 fuel costs around P2 less per liter. Mazda added it offers a fleet of eco-friendly vehicles that are not only exciting to look at but are also fuel efficient—the versatile Tribute SUV, the Mazda6 sports sedan, the MX-5 sports coupe and the CX-9 crossover SUV as prime examples. Mazda said these vehicles are E10-capable. For more info, call the Mazda Hotline at 85-MAZDA (85-62932) or log on to www.mazda.com.ph.
