Mazda Phils. at the 2nd Philippine International Motor Show
showcased the 2008 Mazda3 that can run on E20 fuel, making the car a
star in this year’s event which carried the theme “Drive the
Future: Toward Safer and Cleaner Motoring.” Mazda revealed all
Mazda3 cars that were manufactured beginning August 2007 are already
E20 rated, categorically making them Flexible Fuel Vehicles (FFV).
FFVs have specialized connections between the engine and the fuel
system that allow them to use alternative fuels when available, the
carmaker said. This means the E20 Mazda3 is E20 can run on gasoline
that’s mixed with up to 20 percent of ethanol.
Locally available E10 fuel costs around P2 less
per liter. Mazda added it offers a fleet of eco-friendly vehicles
that are not only exciting to look at but are also fuel
efficient—the versatile Tribute SUV, the Mazda6 sports sedan, the
MX-5 sports coupe and the CX-9 crossover SUV as prime examples.
