Fight recall moves against Gov. Ed Panlilio
|
|
We wonder whether Gov. Ed Panlilio does not regret leaving his first
love, the priesthood, to venture into the “dirty” world of
politics by running for governor in Pampanga in last year’s
election.
He has been doing a good job as governor but is
being destroyed at the peak of success.
Panlilio ran on the platform of good government
and responsible citizenship against well-entrenched political clans
of Pampanga. He had limited funds and no party machine, relying only
on the support of fiercely loyal and highly motivated voters. He
beat his wealthy and powerful opponents in what has been hailed as a
phenomenal upset in Pampanga’s political history.
