Muslims, Christians endorse federalism |
|
Muslim leaders and other resource persons endorsed at a Senate
hearing Wednesday the shift to a federal form of government by
amending the Constitution as proposed by Senate Minority Leader
Aquilino Pimentel Jr.
Speaker Paisalin Tago of the Autonomous Region
in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), former ARMM Assemblyman Nazzir Ynawat, Al
Tillah of the Phimpunan-Sin Islam and Amina Rasul Bernardo, lead
convenor of the Philippine Council for Islam and Democracy and a
Manila Times columnist, said federalism would solve the problem of
separatism in Mindanao.
