Jakiri’s lawyer says a certain Akmad Jakiri (a
namesake) has already been arrested and jailed since 2003

petition for habeas corpus filed by an arrested Moro Islamic
Liberation Front (MILF) commander due to alleged kidnapping and
serious illegal detention charges.
RTC Judge Oscar Noel has ordered the immediate
release of Ismael Akmad Jakiri, alias Ismael Saafar or “Kumander
Tigre,” MILF’s 204th brigade commander (under the 104th base
command and Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces -MILF), after the police
failed to establish authentic evidence linking Jakiri to the
2002 abduction of businessman Carlos Belonio and Jaen Keon, a Korean
national, in Palembang, Sultan Kudarat.
