Justice panel wants more time to probe CA scandal

 
THE three-man Department of Justice fact-finding team needs more time beyond the 30-day period given them to finish and submit a report on the Court of Appeals bribery scandal, owing to the complex nature of the case.

The panel head, Justice Undersec­retary Ernesto Pineda, said Monday that he formally asked Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez for an extension on the conduct of the investigation, so the prosecutors will be able to study well the records of the case, including the affidavits and evidence turned over earlier by the Supreme Court.
