US financial woes prod House to act

While working on the proposed 2009 budget, the House of Representatives will form a “House economic team” that would liaison with the executive department’s economic managers to formulate a package of fiscal reform stimulus, that would help shield the country from effects of the American financial meltdown.

House Speaker Prospero Nograles also said Thursday the chamber would shift its focus on passing pending economic measures, after it sends its version of the General Appropriations Act of 2009 to the Senate.
