In a kaleidoscopic world overrun by uncountable colors, the Fall season of 2008 sees the resurgence of basic black. With monochromatic hues taking the forefront—elegance, texture and effortless simplicity are the proverbial themes seen in Calvin Klein’s latest collection for women.

Calvin Klein presents the women’s line for Fall 2008

While Manila may not have four seasons, this proviso is still no reason to subscribe to the quarterly dictums of the In’s and Out’s of fashion. The recent incidence of cool weather is an appropriate raison d’être to turn a rainy day into a stylish occasion with cK’s latest line of Fall pieces.

Gone are the overpowering hues so associated with the sweltering summer months. Instead, the eyes are given a rest in favor of a more structured and tonal palette that is flattering and impressive given any body type or frame. The power of monochrome plays up our best features and enhances any silhouette while masking whatever imperfections women may have.

Colors. Deep shades of evening darks including rugged grey, modern blue, grey heather, navy, and black, or pales such as soft silver, cement, and sterling are paramount this season.

Calvin Klein promotes accents of lustrous brights such as jewel blue, as well as racing and briar green, provide pops of color throughout. With the sheer versatility of these basal shades, additions to you wardrobe this Fall 2008 guarantee an updated yet classic stylishness that can endure the seasons to come.

Feminine and edgy. Sculptural folds throughout create a delicate sensuality and these dramatic design components make a perfect foil to the more subdued hues of Calvin Klein’s latest collection. Smooth rectangular shapes, both lean and oversized adopted for tops and dresses. Supplely draped sexy poet dresses are fresh and graceful, while refined straight-leg pants provide a menswear element.

Fall 2008 pays close attention to highlighting the feminine figure for a lithe and flattering look. Voluminous outerwear has a slightly cinched waist. Knits are either oversized or snug, long and lean. All are twisted, folded and darted to accentuate the silhouette.

Sensual, natural fabrics. Airy, light silks and fluid nylons, alongside warm alpacas and softest cashmeres. Texture is achieved through subtle double-facing, quilting, crushing and folding of noble fabrics.

Given the simple elegance of cK’s monochromatic autumnal theme, a play on fabrics will add dimension and interest to any ensemble. Mixing and matching separates heightens the drama of style and reveals new options in complimenting any woman’s wardrobe. Lightweight wool, mohair and tweed are combined for a modern touch. Wovens are slightly draped in lightweight crepe de chine or a sultry silk viscose.
