Zubiri raps govt inaction on biofuels

Sen. Miguel Zubiri questioned Friday the failure of the Department of Energy (DOE) to issue the standards for the manufacture and sale of E85, or a blend of 85-percent ethanol and 15-percent fossil fuel.

Zubiri, author of the Bio-fuels Law, said the delay in the Energy department’s action is keeping interested parties from expanding beyond the current production of E10, or a blend of 10-percent ethanol and 90-percent fossil fuel.
