The basic thrust of a filmmaking venture is storytelling. But not all filmmakers have the ability to narrate. They can be technically adept with today’s digital cameras, lighting equipment, as well as versed in blocking the actors and all the elements of cinematography. They may even be savvy publicists and marketers, selling their work purposively to film festivals here and abroad. But the basic premise of conducting and producing a film is to be able to tell clearly the plotline.
