Top trainers also take centerstage on May 2

 
While the stakes are high for Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton of the United Kingdom when they square off on May 2 in Las Vegas, there is also a battle looming between the trainers of the two fighters who seem to have taken over the trash talking for the bout.

Based on an article posted at eastsideboxing.com, there is even a specially designed four-tier trophy, measuring over five feet in height, bearing the inscription “No. 1 pound-for-pound Best Trainer in the World,” which will be presented to either Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach or Floyd Mayweather Sr., Hatton’s trainer. Mayweather Sr. is the enstranged father of Floyd Mayweather Jr., the only man to beat Hatton.
