Acronyms fight job crunch
|
|
Please note that the International Labor of Organization (ILO) has
cited the Philippines for having organized an effective response to
rising unemployment caused by the economic crisis.
In a recent report, the ILO lauded RP as one of
the countries that have provided contingency measures to blunt the
impact of joblessness. Thousands of jobs have been lost to domestic
business closings and overseas cutbacks, but the Department of Labor
and Employment (DOLE) said a raft of government programs has begin
to cut job losses, return displaced workers and create new work
opportunities.
