MILF slams oil exploration in Bangsamoro homeland 

Oil giants use cost-benefit analysis to justify continuing ‘plunder’ of energy resources in the region

COTABATO CITY: The hierarchy of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on Wednesday disclosed that foreign companies are conducting oil exploration in the seas of Sulu archipelago and Tawi-Tawi on without direct benefit to the Moro people.

The MILF in a statement identified these foreign compa­nies as the United States Exxon Mobil Exploration Co. and the Malaysian firm Mitra Energy Ltd. that reportedly will start drilling in the Sulu Sea by the fourth quarter of this year.
