SERIOUSLY STRESSFUL

Nowadays, it’s a staple in the workforce jargon; a light-hearted label for office anxieties and work-related woes. But no matter how frequently you hear it, how easily it rolls on the tongue, or how openly you can discuss it as supposed to more sensitive health issues, one thing remains certain: stress is a serious matter.

“[It] is primarily caused by [the] ‘fight or flight’ response in our biological system,” Stress-management Instructor David Montecillo told The Manila Times. “When there is an external stimulus that poses as a threat, our bodies go into a physiological response to get ready to ‘fight’ the danger or to take ‘flight’—run away.”
