The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) is going
forward with the Asean Equity Fund proposed by President Gloria
Arroyo to help member countries weather the current economic crisis.
“The $120-billion multilateral equity fund was
able to step forward,” Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said
over the government-run dzRB radio on Sunday.
The Senate will give top priority to the passage of economic bills
for the remaining seven weeks of the Second Regular Session, which
resumes today, Senate Majority leader Juan Miguel Zubiri said
Sunday.
