Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr., said Thursday that
the
Senate Committee on Ethics, headed by Sen. Panfilo Lacson, had
compromised the integrity of Senate proceedings by coming out with a
decision against Sen. Manuel Villar Jr., even before it heard the
complaint of Sen. Jamby Madrigal against Villar.
He warned that the Senate consideration of
priority bills would be affected if the chamber fails to resolve
this issue. He contended that the Ethics committee violated the
rules of the game in finding sufficiency of form and substance in
Madrigal’s complaint a day before the committee met to determine
if there was indeed such sufficiency.
