Malacañang is in big trouble over its rejection of a shortlist of
nominees to vacancies in the Supreme Court that had been submitted
to it by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC).
Court insiders over the weekend said that
President Gloria Arroyo violated the Constitution when she returned
the shortlist to the JBC, when she had to fill up one of the two
slots for associate justice. The council will take up today the
rejection made by Malacañang.
