Stronger than ever
|
|
The meeting last week between
Philippine President Gloria Arroyo and US President Barack Obama in
Washington, D.C., has strengthened cooperation between the two
countries, a plus for GMA as she prepares to spend her last year in
office with vigor and a vote of confidence from a powerful ally.
For Mr. Obama, seeking to expand
influence in East and Southeast Asia, the meeting provided a
first-hand assessment of the Filipino leader and possibilities for
wider partnership in the war on terrorism.
