Barring any disagreements, the
pending peace talks between the government and the Moro Islamic
Liberation Front (MILF) will resume by October, an official said
Monday.
Rafael Seguis, chairman of the
government peace panel, announced that they and members of the
separatist group MILF were set to meet in Kuala Lumpur on August 20
to iron out the kinks in the proposals made by both sides with
regard to the peace process framework.
THE Supreme Court on Monday
declared as valid President Gloria Arroyo’s appointment of former
appellate court Justice Mariano del Castillo as new associate
justice of the highest court of the land.
The House of Representatives has
approved on third and final reading a measure requiring all
government offices to release the benefits due their employees
within 15 days from their retirement.
