Gut feeling

It recently claimed the life of former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino. The chance of developing colon cancer increases markedly after the age of 50. Based on the latest statistics, it is the third most common form of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the Western world.

Most colon cancers develop from polyps—a growth on the surface of the colon. Some colon polyps are benign which means that they are not cancerous. However, if benign polyps are not removed, they can become malignant resulting in colorectal cancer, or so-called colon cancer.
