Too early for recovery

IT may be too early to rejoice over the slowing contraction of the country’s exports sector.

 While we share the hopes of the local semiconductor industry for a recovery, a quick one may not be in the offing.

On Thursday, the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Inc. (SEIPI) said the sector, which accounts for at least 60 percent of the country’s export receipts, already “hit the bottom” in the first quarter of this year.
